Huckins 78' (PT 95) Rudders, Rudder Housings and Struts.
This is the first cut of the Huckins rudders, rudder housings and Struts.
The three rudders on the Huckins PT boats were external to the transom and operated using arms that extend through the transom and then link together inside the hull and also link to the single servo.
This is one of the Huckins 3D printed brass rudders and it exceeds my expectations, it works really well, however the rudder blade size proved to be too small and to fix that I made up larger, laser cut, painted plywood "mittens" which I glued over the brass blade.
This shows the operation of the three rudders as well as the three motors running at low speed.
