There are two versions of the Vosper Bridge / Superstructure, The 3D version which can be 3D printed OR the laser cut version in birch plywood, Obviously the 3D version is a lot more detailed than the plywood version can be but that said it is also a lot more expensive, so it depends on what your level of skill is and/or your budget.
These are a couple of images of the 3D version bridge area showing all the detail, I have also done a 2D laser cut version of this but obviously I can't make all these details in the laser cutter version, so the hand made model will be a combination of laser cut structure with 3D printed details added.
The 3D printed helm area could be inserted into the laser cut superstructure as well instead of the laser cut pieces.
Various laser cut kit build photo's below.
I have added all the ammo boxes.
There are a few different ammo boxes on this beast and each one has two different shaped feet to suit the deck curvature at their particular location and orientation.
The basic structure of the flag cupboard, I reduced the number of pidgeon holes for the laser cut version as it was all getting a little small!
This is Starboardd side <"frame" that fits to the rear stbd side of the superstructure.
This part is the upper bridge shelf, or the underside.
This shows the same shelf from the top side.
This gives you an idea of the forward structure of the bridge.
The Starboard "frame" - note this is just sitting, it's not in the right place.
This is one of the large vents which will sit on the forward deck, each segment gets slightly longer from bottom to top to angle the open face. Or you can use the 3D version.
I needed to convince this cowl cover to stay curved!
This image shows the "gutter" brackets around the top of the forward bridge area.
The other cowl cover needed the same curvature treatment.
I'm not sure what this piece is called. I think it was either a wave guide or just a cover for the radar cables and is located on the Stbd side at the rear of the bridge. It could have also been a chimney from the galley, It's hard to tell what it's primary purpose was but there were a couple of cables coming out the top up to the mast.
This shows the completed superstructure (except for the radar waveguide/chimney above).
The Finished Port side.
The Finished Starboard side.
From aft, showing the finished flag locker.
