Laser cutting files - DWG / DXF Pricelist

This pricelist details the pricing and methodology for downloading to your device of digital content containing files for you to laser cut your own model boat parts.

It is NOT for the purchase of physical items!

If you have your own laser cutter these files may be used directly - if you don't have access to a laser cutter, there are many commercial laser cutting companies, all over the world, that you can send the files to.

These files are optimised to be cut from a sheet larger than 300mm x 400mm. (PT-Boat uses 12" (304.8mm) x 16" (406.4mm) sheets) of Birch marine grade ply of 0.6mm / 0.8mm / 1mm / 1.5mm and 2mm and 3mm pine marine ply. The drawings consist of two flat 2 dimensional layers - layer 0 is the vector cutting layer that needs to be cut through and layer 0-text is the raster detail and lettering layer which needs to be etched only.

PT-Boat uses a USA made Epilog laser cutting machine.

These files have cutting outlines that have a number of "tags" or non cutting spots that prevent the cut parts (ribs etc.) from falling out of the sheet.

All design files consist of a .zip file containing an (AutoCAD 2004) .dwg and a .dxf file format and may also contain an instructions file and the .zip file will be automatically downloaded to your device following successful payment.

These files can be opened in AutoCAD 2004 or later versions or there are many programs that can open a .dxf file (Note that scaling can be an issue with .dxf files).

Note that if you do not have a Paypal account, you can enter a credit or debit card via the Paypal button. Once the Paypal payment is complete, a button will appear asking you to "Return to Merchant", once this is pressed, the .zip file containing the .dwg and .dxf design files will automatically download to your computer or other device and you will find it in your downloads directory.

The laser cutting drawing sheets are optimised for a 12" x 18" laser cutter (We use an Epilog brand machine) they consist of two layers, a cutting layer for vector cutting and a separate raster layer for text and other markings.
